Blackpool have not enjoyed too healthy a relationship with their fans of late.
Chairman Karl Oyston faced an FA charge over comments made towards a supporter, and now the former Premier League club has been forced to issue a statement distancing itself from a Twitter account it previously endorsed.
The ‘CommercialBFC’ account, set up as an outlet for “sales queries and sponsorship news”, according to the club itself, has been shut down following tweets in which it accused fans of being “typical a**ehole w**kers”.

The League 1 club, who played in the top flight in the 2010/11 season, have issued a statement in which it is claimed: “This account has not been utilised for promotional purposes by the club for some time and is not accessible to any current employees.”
“The club does not condone the views expressed and has since had this account removed,” the statement on Blackpool’s official website continues.
