Lampard rates him highly
Derby County are interested in signing Manchester United youngster Demetri Mitchell, as reported in the Derby Telegraph.
Rams boss Frank Lampard is a big fan of the young left-back, who previously played as a midfielder, and is hoping to bring him to Pride Park on a permanent basis for a fee of around £500,000.
Mitchell played just once for United’s first team in the 2016/17 season, on the final day when Crystal Palace travelled to Old Trafford, and spent the second half of last season on loan at Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership. The 21-year-old played eleven matches for Hearts and scored one goal.
Lampard has reportedly promised the young talent first team football in the hope of persuading him to join Derby.
The Chelsea legend has also been in contact with his former club to discuss the possibility of taking a couple more players on loans, according to the report.
