Frozen out Man United man Bastian Schweinsteiger shows he’s pure class with this message

He's not in the team, but he's not sulking

Bloody but unbowed.

It would be the easiest thing in the world for Bastian Schweinsteiger to disappear into the Old Trafford shadows and take a big-money move for himself anywhere else in the world.

The German captain has been banished to the reserves by Jose Mourinho and is expected to depart the club but not at the expense of his dignity. Not at the expense of his class.

It’s been a tough summer for the Bayern Munich legend, expelled to the background, forced to watch on as the new manager assembles a new team. And persists with Marouane Fellaini.

But he’s kept his head down and he’s carried on with his work. He’s carried on smiling.

Now, ahead of United’s first game of the season at Bournemouth on Sunday, Bastian is surplus to requirements once more but in a message of pure humility and grace, he has sent his support to the club.

Unfortunately for the 32-year-old, people are way more interested in what the new kid on the block has to say.
