Al Nassr were beaten once again
Cristiano Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure at half time of Al Nassr’s 1-0 defeat on Monday night and was spotted shouting at his own bench.
Al Nassr were beaten by Al Wehda in the semi finals of the King Cup tournament thanks to Jean-David Beauguel’s first half strike despite Al Wehda being reduced to 10 men after the break.
Despite the extra man advantage, Al Nassr and Ronaldo were unable to get themselves back into the game, coming closest in the 81st minute after an effort from the Portugal international cannoned off the crossbar.
As he walked off the pitch the 38-year-old couldn’t hide his dissatisfaction and visibly lost his temper with his own team.
Many fans reacted to the outburst with one fan tweeting: “Can’t handle he isn’t what he was even a few years ago. It’s sad to see.”
Another said: “Why can’t he just wait till he gets to the dressing room since that’s where they’re all going already?”
A third tweeted: “The main strength of CR7 is his weakness. Not giving up made him decorated with numerous achievements but now not giving up and accept the power of nature that his efficiency dwindles with time, the better he retires.”
“Imagine throwing all your toys out the pram to end up playing at the lowest level of football in the world and be annoyed when your farmer team doesn’t beat the other lot,” wrote another.
Ronaldo has scored 11 goals since making his move to the Middle East in January however Al Nassr’s fortunes on the pitch haven’t improved all that much.
Since his arrival, manager Rudi Garcia left the club while they were beaten in the Saudi Super Cup and also trail Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League table.
