Alex Ferguson? Stubborn? Never!
The Scot will go down as the greatest Manchester United manager in history but he’s not letting bygones be bygones from his spell in the Old Trafford dugout.
Ferguson had many a falling out with players in his 27 year tenure with the Red Devils and, famously, Wayne Rooney is one player who he’s not quick to forgive.
Ferguson maintains that Rooney handed in a transfer request in 2013, just before Fergie retired, but the striker insists that that simply wasn’t the case.
“I went in to see him and just said, ‘If you are not going to play me then it might be better for me to move on,’” Rooney said.
“Then, all of a sudden, it was all over the press that I had put a transfer request in, which I never did.”
But Fergie has a different take on how that issue played out and, by the sounds of it, he’s still pretty bitter about the whole ordeal.
Ferguson was scheduled to take part in the BBC documentary ‘Rooney – The Man Behind the Goals,’ but Gary Lineker has revealed that he pulled out of the filming.

We can’t say that we’re surprised that Alex Ferguson isn’t a subscriber to the “forgive and forget” school of thought.
