Many people will agree with Gary Neville on this
Gary Neville has called for a strong punishment to be handed down to Birmingham City after one of their fans ran onto the St. Andrew’s pitch and attacked Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish on Sunday afternoon.
Grealish was attacked by a supporter less than 10 minutes into the game at Birmingham’s home ground. The fan can be seen running onto the pitch from the corner area, before throwing a punch at the back of Grealish’s head.
Neville, a pundit for Sky Sports, took to social media in the immediate aftermath of the attack and said that he feels that the club must be hit with a punishment as a “deterrent in the future”.
“The club are going have to take a huge punishment for this to act as a deterrent in the future . A Points deduction or Empty stadium for 10 games!” he said on Twitter.

While the majority of people have called for a punishment on the supporter, Neville’s tweet sees him calling for a punishment for the club as well to prevent other fans from considering doing the same in future.
Police at St. Andrew’s confirmed shortly after the incident that the fan has been arrested, while Grealish could be heard being booed in the stadium even despite the attack earlier in the game.
