Gary Neville has paid Manchester United’s new rightback the ultimate compliment – by comparing him to himself.
Neville is arguably the finest rightback in United’s history, and so Matteo Darmian has every right to feel flattered by the generous comparison.
That’s if the inferred resemblance relates to playing ability. Judging from Neville’s tweet, he may be comparing the two in the looks department instead.
And with all due respect to the Sky pundit’s distinctive features, we can’t help but feel that Darmian’s boyish good looks are a class above the ex-United man…
