Gary Neville is always good value
On Monday Night Football, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are almost always value for money. The former Manchester United and Liverpool defenders are always available to offer a witty remark or insightful comment, and people love it.
Neville and Carragher know what they think and they aren’t afraid to voice their opinions, and that happened on the most recent edition of Monday Night Football.
Discussing Sam Allardyce’s recent criticism of new Arsenal manager, Neville was pretty blunt in his appraisal.
“He’s only five to six weeks in. I saw Sam Allardyce’s comments last week on the radio after the first game. He talked about ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that’. Unai Emery’s not trying to get eight points from five games to avoid relegation. He’s trying to build a team to win a title. He’s trying to build a team in the style to win a title. Not lump it long and get in behind them.”
So….
Yeah.
Is Neville sub-tweeting Big Sam using the medium of speech to criticise his style of football? Is he saying that a man who kicks the ball long with each team doesn’t have the right to criticise a manager who has won three Europa League trophies and a Ligue 1 title once?
Maybe. Maybe not. But either way it was funny and entertaining.

The build-up to Monday Night Football is honestly better than the game itself, Gary Neville is an unbelievable pundit #MNF
