The deal has gone through after members approved the sale
The investment group headed by Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has completed the takeover of FC Andorra, a footvall club in the tiny nation of Andorra who plays in Spain’s lower leagus.
Piqué revealed in a statement on Sunday that the deal had gone through after members approved the sale.
“The General Assembly of FC Andorra has unanimously approved the transmission of its assets in favour of an Andorran company jointly managed by different investors, including Kosmos,” said a statement from the company.
“Kosmos welcomes the decision made by the club. The company adds this project to its global portfolio linked to sports, media and entertainment ventures.”
The club play in the fifth tier of Spanish football against clubs in Catalonia. During the 1980s and 90s they reached the third tier but have not hit those heights since.
This is just the latest of Piqué’s business activity as the former Spain international prepares for retirement by investing his money in both football and tennis.
Kosmos have also received the backing of the Davis Cup to revamp the team tennis tournament into an end of season event held in one location as opposed to its current format of taking place over several months and in various locations.
Piqué also has business ventures in esports, video games, eyeglasses, isotonic drinks and organic hamburgers.
