Dogs + football = very good scenes
We all love dogs. They are brilliant and affectionate, they have soft fur and it feels funny when they lick your hand or face. They are stupid and lovely and generally make life much better than it already is. They’re great.
You know what else is good? Football. It’s a great sport. It’s fun to play, it’s fun to watch and it’s generally just great.
You know what’s better than both dogs and football? Both of them combined. Dogs playing football, that is what is better than both dogs and football. As good as football is and as good as dogs are, a dog running around hitting its head against a football is about as funny as anything you’ll ever see in life.
It is because of this, because of these melding of worlds, that we particularly enjoyed seeing a little canine buddy take centre stage in a recent Argentine third division match between Juventud Unida de Gualeguaychu and Defensores de Belgrano de Villa Ramallo.
Juventud were already 3-0 when the incident in question occurred, with the Belgrano goalie going for a quick kick out.

He did so, but it ended up hitting off one of the Juventud players, who attempted to kick the ball into the empty net.
That would have worked, were it not for the trusty doggo scurrying across the goal at just the right time to deflect the ball away, shortly before scurrying once again off the pitch.
We don’t have much to add to this other than the fact that we loved it and we want to see more, perhaps a dog being placed on the pitch at half-time of Premier League 0-0s to spice things up.
