Harry Kane announces he will stay at Tottenham ‘this summer’

All summer the Kane has been linked with a move away from Spurs, but time is running out until the transfer window closes

Tottenham captain Harry Kane has accepted that he will stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

With less than a week to go until transfer deadline day on August 31, the striker has come to terms with the fact that his desired move to Man City will not materialise, and has tweeted that he will be staying at Tottenham for another season.

He is expected to be part of the matchday squad for their European Conference League play-off second leg against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday.

Having not been a part of the Spurs squad for either of their first two games of the season, Kane made his first appearance as he came off the bench against Wolves at the weekend with 15 minutes to go.

At the final whistle he walked over to the travelling Spurs fans and applauded them, before sharing an embrace with manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Kane has made no secret of his desire to leave the club this summer, but with just days left of the summer transfer window and very little time for Spurs to find any potential replacement for him,Daniel Levy has held on to his man.

Manchester City have been the potential destination for the striker, but they have not met Levy’s £150 million valuation for Tottenham’s second highest goalscorer of all time.

The 28-year-old could now make his first start of the season when Tottenham take on Watford in the Premier League on Sunday.

Only time will tell now how happy Kane is at Spurs this season, or whether the club’s refusal to grant him his wish of a move away affects his form.
