Kane suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Wembley
The ankle injury suffered by Harry Kane in Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester United on Sunday will see the striker out of action until early March, according to the club.
Spurs’ leading man has been in wonderful form this season, and this month became the first player in the club’s history to score 20 goals in five consecutive seasons.
He currently has 14 league goals from 22 games this season, but the injury picked up against Solskjaer’s side could leave him out for Spurs’ next 10 fixtures.
Mauricio Pochettino had already been contending with the difficulty of playing high intensity football with a slim squad, before Kane’s injury late in Sunday’s defeat only heightened the situation.
Following preliminary assessments, we can confirm that @HKane has damaged ligaments in his left ankle, sustained during Sunday's match.
He will continue to be monitored by our medical staff as he commences rehabilitation and is expected to return to training in early March. pic.twitter.com/Ot3doPa4K6

Should Kane remain absent for as long as expected, he is likely to miss some crucial ties including – potentially – the League Cup final, the Premier League match away to Chelsea on 27 February and the North London derby a week later.
He is also guaranteed to miss Spurs’ Champions League round of 16 tie with Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund, with the first leg set to take place on 12 February.
His absence will be made all the harsher by the departure of Son Heung-min, who joined his South Korea national team colleagues at the AFC Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Should South Korea go the distance at the tournament, Son will remain with the squad until early February.
