There are three possibilities here.
1 – Diego Costa’s English may have led him towards a poor choice of words. 2 – Diego Costa is leaving Chelsea and has said goodbye to his teammates. Or 3 – Diego Costa was on the lash and got way too emotional about his love for his friends.
It’s very hard to say which possibility is the more likely but when the Blues striker took to Instagram with the oddly vague caption “Thank you very much for all my friends!!!”, many supporters believed that it was a sign of Costa’s much-discussed departure.
There has been a lot of conversation in this transfer window that Costa’s former club Atletico Madrid are keen on bringing the divisive forward back to the Spanish capital.
The 27-year-old was left out of Antonio Conte’s squad for Chelsea’s pre-season clash with Liverpool, even though he was in attendance, and that, coupled with his social media activity, has left plenty of fans thinking that his time is up.
