Manchester United picked up their second win of the week to close the gap to Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.
A tedious first half suggested another 0-0 draw could be on the cards, but Jesse Lingard opened the scoring after the break with his first United goal before Juan Mata made the points safe from the penalty spot.
