Leicester City continue to take strides towards becoming the unlikeliest Premier League champions ever.
That said, the fact that they are six points clear is no fluke. Their football this season, as demonstrated once again in their impressive victory over Manchester City, makes them worthy of their five point lead at the Premier League summit.
Of the three goals scored by Claudio Ranieri’s men at the Etihad, Riyad Mahrez’s was the pick of the bunch. The Algerian made a mockery of City’s expensively-assembled defence before firing past Joe Hart, highlighting once again what a shrewd piece of business Leicester did to bring him to the club for less than £500,000.
Now though, it appears that the man that played a significant role in identifying Mahrez’s potential has departed Leicester.
Ben Wrigglesworth, widely regarded as playing a key role in the signings of both Mahrez and N’Golo Kante, has long been linked with a move to Arsenal.
And now the man himself looks to have confirmed the news.
