LaLiga has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak
As the coronavirus spreads throughout Europe at an exponential rate, football leagues from across the continent have suspended all matches for the foreseeable future.
LaLiga took the decision to postpone all fixtures for at least the next two round of matches after a player on the Real Madrid basketball team, who share a training facility with the football side, tested positive for the virus.
Real Madrid’s football stars have been instructed to train at home during this period. Their match against Manchester City, originally scheduled for next Tuesday, has also been postponed alongside all Champions League matches.
“The recommendation has been made to quarantine both the basketball first team and the football first team, given that the two squads share facilities in Ciudad Real Madrid,” a Real statement said.
