Teammates fighting is somewhat of a rarity in football these days
Viking FK’s Patrik Gunnarsson and David Brekalo were involved in an on-field altercation at the weekended that saw the goalkeeper dive to the floor and get his teammate sent off as a result.
Bjarne Berntsen’s side rallied from 2-1 down to secure a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Kristiansund, scoring an equaliser in the 88th minute and a winner in the third minute of stoppage time.
However, while it could be expected that the Viking players would’ve been buzzing with their match-winning strike, it was soon overshadowed just two minutes later, when an altercation between Brekalo and goalkeeper Gunnarsson occurred.
It appeared that Brekalo wasn’t happy about Gunnarsson – who is on loan from Brentford – screaming in his face inside their own penalty area, leading to the pair squaring up to each other.
Walking towards him, Brekalo put his arms into the chest of his team-mate to shove him away, before coming back for another push.

Despite not reacting to the first shove, Gunnarsson decided to put a stop to the short-lived confrontation by faking an injury, clutching his head as he theatrically fell backwards towards the floor.
The Viking number 4 then had to be held back by his teammates as he attempted to continue the bust-up with his goalkeeper, some of whom had to pull him away from the situation in order to prevent any further ‘damage’.
After witnessing the shot-stopper fall to the ground, the referee showed Brekalo a red card, much to his confusion and annoyance.
The result at the Kristiansund Stadion sees Viking FC close the gap on league-leaders FK Bodø/Glimt, who could only draw 0-0 at Rosenborg at the weekend.
