Iker Casillas has been hospitalised after suffering from a heart attack during a training session with FC Porto on Wednesday morning, according to reports.

It has been reported that the Spanish goalkeeper has undergone surgery after he suffered myocardial infarction and is already conscious.

It is not expected to threaten his life but his playing career could be under threat and he will miss the rest of the current season.

The 37-year-old has been playing in Portugal since 2015, when he left Real Madrid after a 16-year spell in their first team.

During his illustrious career, he has won the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain as well as 19 trophies at club level with Madrid and two major trophies with Porto.
