Pep Guardiola may have the potential to bring more beautiful football to the Etihad but we’re guessing that he’s had no say in the kit design.
Because a wearer of snazzy suits and proponent of easy-on-the-eye football, as Guardiola undeniably is, would never have given the green light to Manchester City’s new away kit.
According to leaked images obtained by reliable football kit website FootyHeadlines, City are set to ditch their navy away design for a bizarre colour scheme of black, ‘wine’Â and yellow.
The away jersey is extraordinarily ordinary with a black torso blending into wine sleeves (that look more like dark brown to us). It all looks a little, well, cheap.
The shorts will also be black and FootyHeadlines believe that it’s possible for the away kit to be topped off by yellow socks.
It’s all just a jarring jumble of colours that will take some time to grow on us.
