Punching walls, crushing watermelons, bending metal – all your usual pre-fight training routines
Sajad Gharibi – aka The ‘Iranian Hulk’ – has been sharing footage of himself training for his fight with Martyn Ford by punching concrete walls.
The two are set to face off in London on April 2 in what is being dubbed as a fight between the “world’s scariest men.”
Gharibi posted a video on social media of his bizarre training routines, which include crushing a watermelon with his bare hands, hitting tyres with a sledgehammer and punching walls.
The post’s caption reads: “YES THIS IS PERSONAL… Iranian Hulk never stops.
“See you April 2nd @martynfordofficial.”

Now, whilst these undoubtedly show off his immense strength, we’re not sure how much they show off his fighting skills.
Meanwhile, his opponent Ford couldn’t help but mock him for his cartoonish demonstrations of strength (really recommend the video where he bends a frying pan for no real reason.)
He said in his own post: “While he’s bending spanners, punching walls, cutting bones and chewing crayons … I will put myself through the most vigorous fight camp EVER … I will PROVE to a lot of people what I’m about that night.”
He’s also posted footage of his training, claiming that he has already gone from 23.7 stones to 22.5 stone and switched up his training from lifting to movement.

Even Ford has admitted that viewers won’t be treated to the most technically sound fight on April 2 though, writing in a post: “I would absolutely LOVE to put on an event you guys will NEVER forget, this to me is very personal…. things have been said that can’t be taken back, by numerous people in his circle.
“I will release exactly what at the press conference and YOU will see just why this is so personal to me.
“I can’t promise you the most technical fight in the world .. BUT I will promise you that I will bring my absolute EVERYTHING and turn this into an EVENT you will NEVER forget..
“I would absolutely love to pack this arena out and have 20k screaming friends and family show this guy EXACTLY what it means to be strong enough to stand up for what you believe in.”
Let’s be honest though – it’s difficult not to be at least slightly intrigued by the spectacle of two absolutely massive blokes swinging punches at each other.
