Amid all the celebrations over England’s comeback win against Germany, the negatives of the night were pushed to the side.
Jack Butland left the field after just minutes after appearing to injure his foot just before Toni Kroos gave the Germans the lead.
The Stoke goalkeeper has impressed all season and was finally getting a chance to stake his claim for the number one shirt at Euro 2016 in Joe Hart’s absence, but now Butland finds himself a major doubt for the tournament with a fractured ankle.
With the beginning of the competition just 10 weeks away and the usual recovery time for a fractured ankle around three months, it is unlikely the 23-year-old will play any part.
Today's scan revealed I've fractured my ankle, absolutely devasted! I'll be doing everything I can to get back fit as soon as I can! 👊🏼🙏🏼
