Grealish’s profile has risen tenfold since his £100m move from Aston Villa to the Premier League champions last summer and as a result, the 26-year-old’s commercial status has also improved.
While it wasn’t considered a priority when signing Grealish, Man City were full aware of the commercial interest he could generate with comparisons being made to David Beckham, who also used his status as a world-renowned footballer to o forge links to the fashion industry.
Grealish also has a clothing deal with clothing company Boohoo while Manchester City have their own partnership with Dsquared2, with the club’s playing staff regularly seen kitted out in trendy fashion gear when travelling to games.
The 26-year-old hasn’t set the world alight since his big-money move from Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium last summer, scoring just four goals and assisting three times in 30 appearances in all competitions.
