For the fourth year running James McClean has exercised his right not to wear a Remembrance Day poppy, and once again his decision hasn’t gone down well with some.
The West Brom winger explained his stance in an eloquent and heartfelt letter to Baggies fans a few weeks ago, and today lined up for his side against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
McClean, the only player without a poppy on his shirt, observed the minute’s silence like the rest of the players, but was reportedly booed by some of the 75,000 or so fans in attendance when he went to take a corner during the first-half.
Both Eurosport and The Daily Telegraph reported the booing…

James McClean booed at United for not wearing poppy. I am only one that finds his decision less surreal that, say, Emre Can wearing one? 1/2

And that goes for so many other foreign players in Premier League. They doing it because of clubs' PR. It seems to me to demean the symbol
