The name’s bond. James Rodriguez.
James Rodriguez is unsettled at Bayern Munich and fancies a move away from the Bundesliga club as soon as this January, according to Sport Bild.
The Colombian midfielder joined Bayern on a two year loan from Real Madrid in the summer, but Rodríguez is reportedly unhappy at the club and would like to leave. Bild report that his agent, Jorge Mendes, is working hard to organise a move for him next summer, or ideally this January.
Bayern have other ideas though. The club are happy with Rodríguez’s performances and want to keep the playmaker for the full length of the loan, which has an option to buy clause included.
There is interest from Juventus, where the player could reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo, and from clubs in England, but Bayern have no intentions of selling Rodríguez, even if they could recoup a large fee due to the loan being cut short.
Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga, two points behind high flying Borussia Dortmund, who have scored 29 goals in nine league matches so far this season.
Having sold Arturo Vidal to Barcelona in the summer, and with the news of Thiago Alcantara’s ankle ligament injury, keeping hold of James will be a top priority for Bayern.
