The Spanish players weren’t happy about this challenge.
Jamie Vardy was at the centre of the action in the first-half at Wembley tonight.
The Leicester City striker started for England against Spain in the friendly, but clearly didn’t get the memo that there was nothing at stake in the game.
After just six minutes, Vardy landed a crunching tackle on Cesar Azpilicueta
Vardy and the Chelsea defender went for a loose ball, with the speedy England striker getting there first and swinging at it. However, he followed through and landed some studs on Azpilicueta’s shin.

The Spain defender didn’t need to be taken-off, but his teammates, and some on Twitter, weren’t happy with Vardy’s challenge.

That's a bad, bad challenge by Vardy in a friendly.

Two minutes later, Vardy was in the thick of the action again. The striker latched onto a wonderful, curled pass from Adam Lallana, and looked to take the ball around Pepe Reina.
However, the former Liverpool goalkeeper had other ideas, and made clear contact with Vardy, who was attempting to get the ball under control, and gave away a penalty.
Lallana scored from the spot to give England the lead at half-time. The in-form Liverpool midfielder was substituted after 22-minutes for Theo Walcott.
