Good things come to those who wait, as young Preston fan Ted Dockray found out.
After the eight-year-old fan had Jermaine Beckford’s play-off final shirt snatched from him, the player and club were quick to make things right.
Young Ted was invited to Preston’s Deepdale stadium for a free tour, and got a surprise when Beckford presented him with a signed shirt in person.

Ted had caught Beckford’s shirt when the hat-trick hero threw it into the crowd, however a fellow fan appeared to snatch it from him.
The piece of play-off memorabilia reportedly found its way onto Gumtree with an asking price of £1,500.

There’s surely only one way the on-loan striker can further endear himself to the Preston fans…by signing a permanent deal with the Lancashire club.
