JOE’s 5-Word Transfers: Falcao, Balotelli, Valencia, Milner, Fuchs

JOE

Falcao to take Balotelli’s place?

The Daily Star report that Radamel Falcao’s imminent Manchester United exit will not spell the end of his time in England, with Liverpool lining up a shock move for the Colombian.

We’re not sure what Brendan Rodgers has seen in Falcao that we haven’t, but he may be ready to cut short Mario Balotelli’s Anfield stint to make room for the on-loan Monaco striker.

That hippy crack going around Liverpool’s Melwood training ground in the last few days must be pretty strong stuff.

Chelsea to take Valencia across London

Another South American potentially trading one Premier League club for another is Enner Valencia, as the Daily Mirror claim Chelsea remain interested in West Ham’s Ecuadorian star.

With Juan Cuadrado still finding his feet after joining the club in January, Jose Mourinho may be keen to bring in a player with Premier League experience in the hope that he hits the ground running.

While Valencia’s goal record has been nothing special, the forward’s strong work ethic makes him the sort of player Mourinho loves. And with an apparent one-in, one-out policy at Stamford Bridge, Oscar could be moved on to accommodate his arrival.

Contract length key to Milner Arsenal move

In an uncharacteristic move, Arsene Wenger could be poised to make a savvy approach for an experienced English player on the cheap, with James Milner’s impending free agent status not escaping the Arsenal manager.

However the Evening Standard report that Milner’s current club Manchester City have offered the former Aston Villa midfielder a three-year extension, and Arsenal would likely need to match if not better those terms.

Fuchs off to Swansea?

Headline writers’ dream Christian Fuchs could be set for a Premier League move, with the Schalke full-back linked with a free transfer to Swansea when his contract runs out this summer.

Citing reports out of Fuchs’ native Austria, Wales Online claim the 29-year-old is ready to turn down other offers from the continent for the chance to join up with Garry Monk in South Wales.
