Jordan wants the max from Liverpool
This is the last thing that Liverpool fans want to hear after the weekend they’ve just had. According to the Daily Star, Jordan Henderson has turned down a new long-term deal.
Apparently Anfield’s captain-elect has snubbed an £80,000-a-week offer from the club, although supporters will hope it’s just part of the standard negotiation mating dance.
If anything the 24-year-old’s situation is even more pressing than that of Raheem Sterling, as he only has one year left on his current deal and Chelsea are snooping.
Radamel to become a Redman?
There is better news for the Merseyside club in the form of a Metro story reporting that Manchester United’s on-loan striker Radamel Falcao could be on his way to Anfield.
It says right here in black-and-white (so it must be true) that Liverpool are already in talks with the Colombian’s representatives over a possible swoop over the summer.
But the Scouse giants aren’t alone in the pursuit of the presently misfiring marvel; Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan are all vying for the 29-year-old’s fancy scribble.
Romeu wasn’t sold in a day
The Mirror report that Chelsea’s Oriol Romeu is ready to quit the London club in order to find a permanent home with a club that actually wants to play him.
The Spanish midfielder, currently lent out to Stuttgart, is quoted as saying: “After two seasons on loan, the ideal would be settling into a club to get some stability. Every player needs continuity.”
In fairness to the 23-year-old, aren’t we all just longing for a sense of belonging and permanence in this harsh world of displacement and rejection? Good luck mate…
