Jose Mourinho completely blanking Ed Woodward is almost unwatchable

This is painful

This is, without a doubt, one of the most cringe things you’ll see today – but not all is as it seems.

Jose Mourinho hasn’t taken a swipe at Arsene Wenger (yet) and he’s promised to be perfectly civil when dealing with his Manchester City rival Pep Guardiola (unless it becomes a two-horse race for the Premier League title, of course).

But a video tweeted by United makes it look as though Mourinho has laid down an early marker to show who is really in charge of things at Manchester United.

We had originally missed this in the furore over The Special One’s arrival to Manchester on Monday, as United were sure to make a massive deal about their newest signing.

Mourinho was revealed to the world as Manchester United on their own official TV channel, MUTV, where he was filmed entering the club’s training ground at Carrington.

Unfortunately for Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, the cameras there to capture this historic moment for one of the world’s biggest clubs also captured a cold shoulder for the ages.

The former Chelsea manager walks straight past his boss, and shakes the hand of every person in the room – including one of the camera men attempting to film him – before acknowledging Woodward.

Once the pair finally shake hands, Mourinho manages to hold a smile for exactly as long as it takes for Woodward to turn his back before allowing his face to drop.

It does really look like he was blanked, but in fairness Woodward did enter the building at the same time the new manager. But that just makes it even more bizarre that the club decided to originally share just the part that makes it look like Mourinho is ignoring their under-fire executive.

Here’s a longer shot of the same incident from a different angle.

They’re probably best mates, just acting awkwardly in front of the camera, don’t worry.
