Despite Chelsea’s much needed 2-0 victory over Arsenal, Jose Mourinho has endured a difficult opening to the Premier League season.
Now, according to The Express, it appears that Mourinho could be set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season – with Paris Saint-Germain ready to make him their new manager.
Since signing a new contract at Chelsea just a few weeks ago, rumours have circulated that Mourinho’s position has already become under threat. The report suggests that a ‘well placed source’ has revealed that defeat in the midweek Champions League fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv could have spelled the end of the Portuguese’s second term at Stamford Bridge.
Qatar Sports Investments, Paris Saint-Germain’s owners, aren’t overly concerns by Chelsea’s poor start to the season and see Mourinho as the ideal man to take them to Champions League glory. The Express indicate that it is their understanding that the French champions are now actively seeking to find out the former Real Madrid boss’ future plans.
One man that won’t be too impressed to learn of such news will be Laurent Blanc. The current PSG boss made the club French champions once again last year but it seems the owners have their doubts that he is capable of turning them into European champions.
