Almost as soon as Jose Mourinho left Chelsea in December, he’s been linked with a return to football management.
With Manchester United struggling under Louis van Gaal, many have tipped Mourinho’s next job to be the one at Old Trafford – but according to the man himself, he’s far from certain where his future lies.
“My next challenge, my next club? I really don’t know,” Mourinho says in La Stampa.
“I just know that I love football and I will be back with the same passion and ambition as ever, having during this period a respectful behaviour to every manager and every club.
“I don’t search for clubs, clubs search for me.”
Although his vague reply when quizzed about his future will not come as a surprise to many, Mourinho did quash the rumours that he would return to Inter Milan as manager, despite remaining close to club president Massimo Moratti.
“I go for a day in Milan to personally say thanks to my president Mister Moratti.
“I left Inter in 2010 and since then work was hard every day in Madrid and Chelsea, and it was difficult to find a moment to have lunch with the Moratti family.
“We agreed on this Saturday a few weeks ago, and yes, after a family day we will go to San Siro, with an ‘Interista’ spirit, with the hope and the happiness to see Inter win.
“It will be a great emotion for me – San Siro and the Interisti – but let me make it clear – I will not be Inter manager next season.
“Inter has a project, a project that belongs to Mister Thohir and Mister Roberto Mancini, a project that I totally support and wish will end in success.”
