Jose Mourinho isn’t as impressed with Liverpool as some have been this season.
The Manchester United manager appeared happy with the point his side gained from the game at Anfield on Monday night.
His plan to suffocate and restrain Liverpool’s high pressing style worked, and – rather than dwell on why his side showed a lack of ambition – Mourinho questioned why Liverpool couldn’t break them down.
“I think it was a very difficult game. It was more difficult for them than us. We had control for long periods,” Mourinho told Sky Sports during his post-match interview.
“That was the game we planned. We knew they would press high and we knew it would be hard for them to score.Â
“We did well tactically in the defence, we should have had a little bit more in attack, we had a big chance with Zlatan.”
Mourinho then had a slight dig at Liverpool, and those who praised Jurgen Klopp’s side this season after the Reds won five out of seven in the league before Monday’s stalemate.
“They are a good team but they are not the last wonder of the world like you say they are.”
"They are not the last wonder of the world."
