Jose Mourinho ‘agrees personal terms’ with Manchester United

Simon Lloyd

Sick of hearing about Jose Mourinho to Manchester United yet? Yeah, us too.

Unfortunately, we’ve still got a bit longer to wait before the former Chelsea boss inks his contract at Old Trafford – but reports indicate that a deal is very close.

Very, very close.

So close in fact, that it gave Sky Sports News HQ another excuse to roll out their bloody yellow ‘BREAKING NEWS’ bar again late on Tuesday night.

Jose Mourinho Sighting in London

According to those trusty ‘Sky sources’ and multiple other outlets, Mourinho has now agreed personal terms with United. Sky indicate that the length of his contract and salary have both been finalised and that the club are still working with him on some image right issues.

Importantly, the image right issues aren’t thought to be threatening the deal and an official announcement from the club is expected at some point on Wednesday with talks between United officials and Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes moving swiftly during Tuesday.

Mourinho has been linked with the United job almost as soon as he left Chelsea in December.

Despite winning the FA Cup with on Saturday, Louis van Gaal’s failure to return United to the Champions League next season appears to have been the reason for his early exit from Old Trafford.

Just get on with it, yeah?
