Jose, you chancer, you.
The Portuguese has once again this week been linked with the possibly vacant role at Old Trafford this summer, but he’s not letting his guard slip one little bit.
The former Chelsea boss is still the front runner to succeed Louis van Gaal, even if the Dutchman is defiant that he will still be in charge next season at Old Trafford.
The ex-Inter Milan coach has spoken often about his desire to manage in the red half of Manchester, and he will get the chance to at least test out the comfy seats this summer when he leads a selected XI in a Fifa charity game next month.
The ‘Special One’ is currently involved in the Fifa legends series in Mexico, and he was asked after their latest game this week if he was looking forward to settling into Manchester for a few days in June.
His answer was as quick-witted, and as snarky as we’ve come to expect from the multiple title winner who sidestepped the issue of him being a possible full-time boss at the club
“No, no, I’m looking to go to the hotel, have a nice dinner and enjoy the night with my guys.”
“Look, I’m looking for a new job, I lose the game here today, and probably I’ll have no club.”
He may be making jokes about his anticipated arrival, but most Manchester United would not find it too funny if he was to take over permanently this summer.
