Jose Mourinho might be about to spring a Marcus Rashford-shaped surprise on Chelsea

Will he be involved?

On the morning of Manchester United’s FA Cup quarter final against Chelsea, it appeared that Jose Mourinho had a bit of a problem.

With top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic suspended for the match, news filtered through over the weekend that United would also be without their three other main striking options. According to reports, injuries to Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial had prevented them from making the trip to London whereas illness had also meant that Marcus Rashford had stayed in Manchester.

But with United fans pondering how a front two of Marouane Fellaini and Sergio Romero might get on against a Chelsea back line that aren’t exactly in the habit of giving away goals, United appear to have received a boost.

Although yet to be confirmed, there are now suggestions that Rashford has traveled to London a day after his teammates, giving his manager a badly needed attacking option ahead of the game.

According to the Mirror, a late decision on whether Rashford is fit enough to play in the game will be made by club doctors, with Mourinho also wary that United have their Europa League return with Rostov on Thursday evening.
