Jose Mourinho pulled Justin Kluivert to one side immediately after Europa League final

Didn't hang around

Justin Kluivert to Manchester United?

United manager Jose Mourinho certainly looked interested in the Ajax winger in the wake of the Red Devils’ Europa League final victory over the Eredivisie side on Wednesday night.

In the midst of celebrating the 2-0 win, Mourinho made a beeline for Kluivert, the son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert, and enjoyed a pleasant exchange with the 18-year-old.

Kluivert only entered Ajax’s first team fold earlier this year and has performed admirably, securing his place in the plans of manager Peter Bosz, although he failed to make the Friends Arena pitch for the final.

The youngster was an unused substitute in Ajax’s defeat but that didn’t matter to Mourinho, who had plenty to say to Kluivert following the full-time whistle.

Whether it was just some kind words of consolation for the teenager in the wake of a significant loss or something more interesting remains to be seen.

Dutch outlet VoetbalInside claim to have made out what Mourinho was saying to young Kluivert but, given the fact that Mourinho’s mouth is covered for a lot of the conversation, the below surely has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

But there’s certainly no doubting the passion that the Portuguese displayed in the exchange.

Kluivert’s father dipped his toe in the Premier League with a brief spell at Newcastle in 2004.

Will Justin follow in his father’s footsteps and move to England’s top flight?
