Jose Mourinho was uncharacteristically jovial in his post-match interviews tonight, following his side’s dour 0-0 draw against Hull.
After skipping into the press area, he sprinkled daisies in the direction of the BT Sport cameras, before whipping up a freshly-baked batch of vanilla cupcakes for all the reporters waiting in line to interview him.
Yeah OK no we weren’t buying it either.
Jose was up to his old grumpy tricks, and pulled the classic “I don’t want to speak much in case I get fined” line that he used to wheel out on the regular at Chelsea.
And he also couldn’t resist a very unsubtle dig at Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp in relation to his incident with the fourth official during yesterday’s Liverpool-Chelsea fixture at Anfield.

He mentioned “one manager” being told by the fourth official that “I love your emotion” – referring to what Neil Swarbrick reportedly told Klopp after the German manager’s screamed at him after Chelsea missed an 80th minute penalty last night.
And Mourinho added that he was threatened with being sent to the stands tonight – clearly feeling there are some double standards in play here.
Jose wasn’t ready to stop there either. Not content with having a go at Klopp, he also had some pretty cutting words for one of the BBC’s reporters.

“If you don’t know football, you shouldn’t be with a microphone in your hand,” Mourinho told the reporter after he’d been questioned about Mourinho’s implication that Hull had been testing exactly what they could get away with in the eyes of the referee throughout the match.
