Jose Mourinho might not have signed on the dotted line with Manchester United just yet, but plenty seem convinced it’s just a matter of time.
The former Chelsea manager has reportedly told close friends he will move to Old Trafford in time for the 2016/17 season, and details of his supposed contract offer have been leaked to the Spanish press.
El Confidencial report the Portuguese will be offered a three-year deal worth €60m (£46.5m), with what has been described as a “maze” of clauses.
Jorge Mendes, Mourinho’s agent, is understood to be ironing out the final terms with the club.
The reports seem consistent with earlier suggestions from Marca that Mourinho will be unveiled by United on July 1.
El Confidencial also claim Diego Simeone remains in contention to take over Mourinho’s former job at Chelsea, though again it seems no decision will be made until the season is over.
Guus Hiddink, who replaced the 53-year-old on an interim basis, is yet to lose in his second spell at Stamford Bridge, presiding over four wins and six draws in his ten matches in charge.
