Kell Brook’s next fight will potentially be his toughest yet, with undefeated Kazakh middleweight Gennady Golovkin set to take on ‘The Special One’ in London.
Brook had been due to face Jessie Vargas in his home town of Sheffield, but negotiations broke down.
And now Golovkin, who secured his 22nd straight knockout against Dominic Wade earlier in the year, will make his UK debut against the IBF welterweight champion.

The bout gives Brook the chance to become a two-weight champion, with ‘GGG’ poised to put his IBF, WBA, WBC and IBO middleweight belts on the line at the O2 Arena.
Golovkin,who is based in the United States, had been spoken of as a potential next opponent for Chris Eubank Jr.
A title bout with Canelo Alvarez was also spoken of both before and after the Mexican’s comprehensive victory over Amir Khan, but it is yet to materialise.
His 35-0 career record includes 32 wins by knockout, and compares well with Brook’s 36-0 record with 25 knockouts.
The Kazakh has yet to fight on UK soil, but has sold out Madison Square Garden and the Forum in Inglewood, California.
Brook has fought at the O2 only once before, defending his IBF welterweight title against Frankie Gavin in May 2015.
The September 10 bout will be broadcast in the UK on Sky Box Office.
