It is less than three weeks since Ajax youngster Abdelhak Nouri collapsed during a pre-season game against Werder Bremen.
During the match, the 20-year-old suffered a cardiac arrhythmia which resulted in serious and permanent brain damage. He is not expected to recover fully.
The tragic incident and subsequent prognosis shocked the sporting world and saw floods of tributes pour in for a supremely talented and popular player, who has been with the Amsterdam club since his childhood.
The most recent tribute comes from Las Palmas and Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng, who took to Instagram to offer his support to the young Dutchman.
In the post, Boateng – who has played for Milan and Spurs throughout his career, revealed that he will wear a jersey adorned with Nouri’s name under his own for the duration of the season.

Boateng’s beautiful gesture comes a week after Nouri’s close friend and former Ajax youth teammate Timothy Fosu-Mensah took to Twitter to express his sadness and extend his support to the player and his family.
Brothers who play together stay together. I'll always be there for you. Keep fighting❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/gLvJPK8WT8
