Kieran Sadlier’s outrageous effort was obviously the pick of the goals at Richmond Park on Friday night.
If there are any bows left, please let Kieran Sadlier take them. The Cork City man deserves all of them for his performance on Friday.
Sadlier played a pivotal role in his side’s 3-1 win over St Patrick’s Athletic. He bagged the most ridiculous brace to secure the victory. His first goal was as dull as they come. A bog standard spot kick that went into the back of the net. His second, however, that was something special.
Cork were up 2-1 when Pat’s rolled the dice. After winning a corner kick in the dying moments, they decided to send keeper Tyson Farago into the opposition box. It was a bold strategy and one that definitely didn’t pay off.
Cork defended the corner and the ball broke to Sadlier. At the edge of his own box, he caught the ball on the half volley and cleared it away from danger. Sadlier got so much welly on it, that it made it all the way to the Pat’s goal and sailed across the line.
The celebrations were mighty.
We know @KieranSadlier can score special goals….but from inside his own box? Wow. Take a bow we say to the @CorkCityFC man.
