Zouma’s sponsorship deal began last year
West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has lost his sponsorship deal with adidas after he was caught kicking and slapping his pet cat in a video.
A clip released by The Sun on Monday showed the Frenchman attacking his cat in a video that was initially recorded by his brother.
The 27-year-old has since apologised, with the Hammers also condemning his actions and finning him £250,000, while his two cats have been seized by the RSPCA.
Now, adidas have confirmed that its deal with Zouma, which started last year, will be terminated in response to the video.
A statement from the German manufacturer read: “We have concluded our investigation and can confirm Kurt Zouma is no longer an adidas contracted athlete.”
