Kylian Mbappé will not feature in Le Classique
Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has taken the decision to drop Kylian Mbappé for their league game against Marseille tonight.
Mbappé was less than impressive against Napoli in the Champions League midweek, managing just one shot on target and completing only 50% of his attempted dribbles.
Nevertheless, he is a player of immense talent, and dropping him – and Edinson Cavani – for Le Classique demonstrates the confidence with which PSG are going into this game. Especially when he is replaced with Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Adrien Rabiot has also been dropped after a poor showing against Napoli, as Tuchel changes the team’s formation to 3-4-3 with a midfield pairing of Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler. Presnel Kimpembe also miss out as Tuchel names a young back-line.
PSG line up for Le Classique as follows: Areola; Kehrer, Marqhinhos (c), Nsoki; Meunier, Verratti, Draxler, Bernat; Di Maria, Choupo-Moting, Neymar.
