If you haven’t caught the first series yet, you should try and do it before the second season rolls around.
Amongst the many highlights on the list of new releases coming to Netflix in July is the return of Last Chance U for a second season.
Fans of the show will need little introduction to what it’s all about, but for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, the series documents life for football players at East Mississippi Community College, players who have often encountered difficulties in other walks of life.
Having seen his team’s hopes of success crash in a massive brawl at the end of the first season, larger-than-life coach Buddy Stephens returns with another batch of troubled but talented recruits to try and go better this time around.
As well as offering behind-the-scenes insight into the operation of an elite level college football team, Last Chance U also throws up some gripping personal stories involving players and staff at the college in a documentary that deservedly garnered plenty of glowing praise in its first season.
If it can maintain that standard in the second series, then fans are in for a treat; Last Chance U returns to Netflix on 21 July.
