The man was armed and jabbed a gun into the back of Basic before forcing him to hand over his watch. The man then escaped on his motorcycle at around 1:30pm local time. Police are reportedly investigating the incident.
Basic has made 21 appearances in all competitions since joining Lazio from Ligue 1 strugglers Bordeaux at the start of the season – including 15 in the league and six in Europe.
The Croatian has managed to score once and provide two assists this campaign, with Maurizio Sarri’s side sitting eighth in Serie A.
They are also in the knockout stages of the Europa League, where they face Portuguese giants, FC Porto.
