With a World Cup on the horizon, there’s been plenty of kit news about lately to keep football fans occupied.
Seeing as the first international break of the year is nearly upon us, most of the strips that will be worn by the teams competing in Russia this summer have now been revealed – be it officially or via leaked images doing the rounds on the internet.
But fear not, football kit enthusiasts, the good folk over at Footy Headlines have supplied us with some leaked kit news with a difference involving this summer’s tournament’s host nation.
As part of a mash-up range, Adidas will be releasing a special retro Russian shirt, inspired by the country’s success in football at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games..

With an adidas originals logo on its right shoulder, the shirt also features the german sportswear brand’s famous three stripes running from the collar to the top of its sleeves. The numbers 9 and 11 feature on the left and right side respectively.
‘USSR’ is written on the upper back of the shirt, which is expected to go on sale next month.
The shirt will be released alongside the shirts Russia’s team will wear at the World Cup.
Adidas will also be giving shirts by Argentina, Germany and Colombia the mash-up treatment, too. We suspect they’ll all be in high demand…
