He could potentially be the least popular person in England right now
Leonardo Bonucci celebrated Italy’s Euro 2020 final victory over England on penalties by running over to a television camera and shouting four simple words: “IT’S COMING TO ROME!”
Sunday night’s final was a tense game. Luke Shaw gave England the early lead, before Leonardo Bonucci equalised for Italy in the second half to bring the game to 1-1. By that stage, the Azzurri had begun to grab a hold of the game.
The goal proved vital as it finished with one apiece at full-time, meaning that once again, the game had to be settled on penalties.
Rashford, Sancho and Saka missed three of England’s penalties in a row, meaning that Italy went home as the Euro 2020 champions.
Never a shrinking violet, Bonucci clearly considered this the right time to vent a month’s worth of annoyance having to listen to people sing ‘It’s Coming Home’ over and over again.
Football was only ever going one of two ways tonight, and it went to Rome.
If Italy won, they were always going to say it… https://t.co/dxIEr6G0no #ITAENG #Euro2020Final #bbceuro2020 https://t.co/sbYG6BEDPy
