Could the Messi era be over at Camp Nou?
Lionel Messi has experienced some incredible moments during his long career at Barcelona, winning multiple Champions League titles, numerous Ballon d’Or trophies and myriad other honours along the way.
The past three or four years though have not been good. The past season, in particular, has been total shit.
Barca dropped out of contention for LaLiga before bitter rivals Real Madrid won it, and just this week they were humiliated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Now, according to one journalist at least, Messi has had enough. That journalist is Marcelo Bechler and according to a report by him, Messi is ready to leave Camp Nou. Not next summer. Now.
This report will obviously raise eyebrows among many – often we simply assume Messi will remain at Barca forever – but Bechler, a Brazilian journalist based in Catalonia, has close ties to the club.
He was the first to report Neymar’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain and, if he’s proved correct on this one, he’s just broken perhaps the biggest transfer story of all time.
Quite where Messi would go remains a massive question. He is one of the world’s highest paid players and would likely demand a larger fee to go elsewhere. And in truth, regardless of that fee, there will be countless clubs queuing up to sign the best player of all time.
