Liverpool have been drawn against RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will be facing last season’s semi-finalists, managed by Julian Nagelsmann, dubbed by many as the next Klopp.

Leipzig will pose a serious challenge to Liverpool. Known for their high intensity pressing, Liverpool will meet a team confident in playing them at their own game.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have been drawn against Borussia Monchengladbach, who qualified for the second round of the tournament for the first time ever after Inter Milan failed to beat Shakhtar Donetsk at the San Siro last week.

Chelsea – the only other English side left – will play Atlético Madrid, who have been tipped as one of the favourites to win the competition in a year when the traditional big guns find themselves in transitional periods and suffering from financial losses.

Meanwhile, we are set for a rematch of the 2016/17 tie that saw Barcelona complete the greatest Champions League comeback of all time against Paris Saint-Germain, courtesy of a late winner from Sergi Roberto.

That game was Neymar’s greatest performance, but the Brazilian could miss out on the chance to face his old club, having suffered a painful ankle injury during PSG’s loss against Lyon on Sunday night.

PSG are awaiting results from scans that will indicate how long Neymar will be sidelined for.
