Alisson Becker has been a revelation since joining Liverpool
Most signings take at least a bit of time to acclimatise to their new surroundings. Whether it’s settling in on the pitch, with their teammates, or in their new hometown or city, there are a number of potential speed bumps waiting for players at new clubs.
None of these issues appear to have affected Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who joined the Merseyside club from AS Roma during the summer.
From his first minute as the club’s number one he has appeared incredibly comfortable, a little too comfortable at times actually, and has helped supporters forget about the many fallow years they had between the sticks.
The Brazilian has been incredibly impressive during his first season at Anfield, and has played a prominent role in a campaign which has seen the club make its most legitimate bid for league the title in the Premier League era.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the 26-year-old discussed how well he has settled in on Merseyside, but admitted that learning English has been the most difficult part of settling into life in England.
“It was the hardest challenge I had at the start, getting used to the accent. Not just the British accent but the Liverpool accent. But I’ve managed to deal with this,” said the goalkeeper.
“I can understand people and I can communicate with teammates which is really important.”
It was at this point that the interviewer asked if Alisson had picked up any Scouse in his time in England.
His answer? An absolutely wonderful rendition of “Come on lad!”

Very impressive from the Brazilian, and while he clearly isn’t confident enough to go for a ‘Boss tha’ yet, we’re sure it’s not far off.
